PTO is an organization of all parents, staff, and community members interested in the children of Pine Grove School. As set forth in PTO's by-laws, the purposes of PTO are to:
- Educate the community at large regarding issues that directly involve Pine Grove School.
- Nurture a sense of unity and continuity within the school system.
- Sponsor shared activities with both parents and children.
- Conduct fund-raising for the Pine Grove School. Stimulate communication between home, school, and the community.
- Encourage parental and/or community input and involvement.
- Benefit all students at Pine Grove School, whether it is of a social, cultural, or an enriching nature.
The PTO is a network of a wide variety of parents and other members of the Pine Grove Community that work together primarily to nurture a sense of school unity and to run fundraising events through out the year. We are the sponsors of Kindergarten Orientation, the Pine Grove Craft Fair in December and the Jog-a-Long in the spring. We give a scholarship to a Triton Senior each year and hold an Appreciation Luncheon each year for the Teachers and Staff. We also publish a monthly school newsletter called the Pine Times.
What’s the Money For?
- The money that we raise during the school year is used to offset field trip costs and enrichment programs held at the school.
- We aim to buy something every year to be used by the entire school (like a new entry rug, the hand washing station or picnic tables) based on the school’s needs.
- We grant funds to support the teachers through enhancing their enrichment goals and provide funding for unique educational opportunities for our students.
When Do We Meet?
We hope to see you at our PTO meetings that are held at Pine Grove, in the school library from 7-8:30 pm on the first Tuesday evening of every month (with the exception of May, which meets on the second Tuesday, depending on Town meeting dates).
We are always looking for new faces and ideas! All are Welcome! Meetings usually last between one to one and-a-half-hours. We discuss a variety of topics and hear a monthly update from the Principal! Door Prize raffles are held at each meeting. Our meetings are a fun way to meet other parents in the school, get involved, and have fun!
