Hello 6th grade parents,
Now that school is half way through you maybe starting to wonder about the big Middle school! Well I am hear to tell you some tidbits that may help to prepare you.
- First off, do not buy all your school supplies over the summer. There are two different teams which have different needs. You should get the usual pencils, erasers, etc. One good item to buy is a Trapper Keeper! This is very useful for all subjects & to transport from class to class.
- The biggest difference for me is that the students have the responsibility of letting you know what is happening in the school. There is the web-site, but most info is from the students. Examples are: when try-outs are, stuff they need for the many projects they will be doing. It is a great feeling to see your child accept the responsibility as they start to grow.
- There are many activities for the students that cover a variety of interests, from cooking, plays, math leagues, etc. There is something for everyone.
- There are infamous smoothies at lunch, so always give extra money, or if they bring their lunch, money to buy one.
- The dances cost money to get in & they have concessions for a minimal fee.
In conclusion I have to say even though I am not involved in the school like I was @ Pine Grove, my child & others that I have talked to are very pleased with the Middle School .
Respectfully,
Amy Rotberg, a new 7th grade parent
