Opportunities to host exchange students
Local families are being sought to host international high school students for the 2010/11 school year. Rowley resident Wendy Tinkham, who serves as international coordinator for PAX and Aspect, two nonprofit educational foundations, is interviewing families interested in experiencing this cultural exchange.
International exchange students are between the ages of 15 and 18 and speak English and also have full insurance coverage and their own spending money. The students, who are from a variety of countries, including France, Germany, Spain, China, Thailand, Sweden and Poland, arrive in August.
Host families are asked to provide students with meals, a place to sleep and study, and a warm supportive environment. Private rooms are not required, and families with or without children, single parents, young couples and retirees are welcome to apply. Contact Tinkham at
