Dear Parents,
I am writing to inform you that on Thursday, May 27, 2010, Pine Grove School will be participating in a practice Shelter in Place Lockdown Drill. This will occur at approximately 1:45. The Rowley Police and Fire Departments will be here. The practice drill should last no longer than 30 minutes.
Please understand that if you are planning on coming to the school for any reason during that time, you will be asked to proceed back out to your car as we will be taking part in this drill as if it were a real Shelter in Place Lockdown. You will not be permitted to dismiss your child during this time. Therefore, I suggest that if you need to dismiss your child early from school that day please do so prior to the drill or shortly thereafter.
Unfortunately, some children may feel a bit anxious during the drill. We will do our very best to alleviate any anxiety and assure the children that they are safe and secure. Please let us know if your child continues to experience any anxiety following the drill and we will be more than happy to process with him/her.
